HISTORY OF RESEARCH TEAM

SCIENTIFIC/TECHNICAL RECORD DURING THE LAST FIVE YEARS OF THE RESEARCH TEAM:

  • The research team is called ‘Simplification, Automation and Miniaturization of Analytical Processes’, integrated since 2012 in the “Analytical-Nano-Group”, being Professor Ángel Ríos the head of the group and the tutor investigator in this group for the candidate. The group is integrated by 9 permanent professors’ staff, 2 post-doctoral contracted investigators, and 7 pre-doctoral students. The main field of interests are: (i) simplification-automation of sample preparation for analytical purposes; (ii) miniaturization of analytical processes and detection systems; (iii) development of screening methods; (iv) analytical uses and characterization of nanomaterials; and (v) contributions to metrology for nanomaterials, as well as quality assurance issues. The group have research collaborations with other national and international groups. During last years the group has been involved in the organization of two international symposia and one national workshop, being the tutor investigator of the candidate the chair in all these cases. The main values of the group are:
  • (i). Integration of a big number of investigators to produce a significant human resource (since 2012 three different research groups were integrated).
  • (ii). Interdisciplinary in the group, involving analytical chemists, biologists and biochemists, and engineers.
  • (iii). Internationality through different projects and scientific collaboration with foreign groups.
